Religious Education

At Shiremoor Primary School we believe that R.E. both supports and strengthens what we aim to do in every aspect of school life. Our caring ethos and the value which we place on the development of the whole child; spiritually, morally, socially, culturally and intellectually is reflected in the R.E. curriculum.

We deliver the RE curriculum through the Discovery RE Scheme of Work. This has been chosen as it not only reflects our approach to RE but it also allows the children to both learn about a diverse number of religions and to learn from them too. The Discovery RE Scheme of Work allows us to deliver the North Tyneside Agreed Syllabus for RE across a range of religions including Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism through its enquiry-based approach.
