At Shiremoor Primary School we are always looking at ways to develop and enhance our curriculum to ensure we are giving our children the most purposeful provision. This means the children will be covering some exciting topics in their lessons and we want them to be able to share their learning with you as they are progressing both academically and as they are becoming citizens of a global community.
In Key Stage 2 children will be provided with Information Organisers when they begin a new unit in History, Geography and Science. The Information Organiser is a document which shows what the learning will be that half term and gives children a chance to do some further research and reading at home. Over time, students will build up a core bank of facts and vocabulary that will help them excel in their achievements and understand the world around them. The revision and learning of the Information Organisers will also help students embed their knowledge and support them as they access more complicated content in later years.
We hope the Information Organisers will also support parents who would like to find out more about what children are covering in their lessons. The pupils will also present their learning in their class assemblies throughout the year.
More information about the school curriculum can be found on this website and on our class Twitter feeds which we encourage you to follow.
