Emergency Procedures
Extreme Winter Conditions Procedures
If weather conditions deteriorate over the winter we may have to close the gates to the school yard as the pathways could be slippery or inaccessible.
The arrangements for this are as follows:
- Nursery, Reception, Years 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 children to arrive at school via the main entrance.
- 2 year old and Rising 3’s provision to enter and exit school via back door (green gates next to bungalow).
Due to the volume of people at the entrance we ask that adults leave their child in the morning to enter school without them as staff will be at the front door to see them to their classrooms.
At the end of the school day, no adults will be permitted into school until 3pm. Parents are to arrive at the main entrance (see below arrival times) where they should go directly to the classroom of their youngest child. All older siblings will also be waiting in this classroom. Parents should then exit the premises either by the main door or by the back door (next to the bungalow). Members of staff will be on both doors to support parents.
Please note the following year groups and collection times as collection time will be staggered:
- 3:00pm – 2 year old provision / Rising 3’s / Nursery / Reception
- 3:05pm – Year 1
- 3:10pm – Year 2
- 3:15pm – All Key Stage 2
No child will be released from school earlier than the above times without an appointment card.
Children who walk home alone, will be allowed to exit from the main entrance at 3.15pm. Any adults using main entrance should ensure that children have right of way.
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR EFFORTS BY LISTENING AND FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS STAFF GIVE, AS WE HAVE A LARGE NUMBER OF CHILDREN TO CARE FOR AND CROWDING AROUND THE ENTRANCE/EXITS CAN CAUSE UNNECESSARY PROBLEMS.
There may be delays and difficulties for individuals within these arrangements but our duty is to ensure the health and safety of children and therefore this will take priority. We ask that all adults are supportive of this and remind parents that any adult on the premises is acting as a role model for children.
If this procedure is to be put in place a notification will be put on this website and Twitter.
Please check these daily for updated information.
