Snow Drill

In the event of a snow drill being enforced, we will send a tweet and an email. Please ensure you read all information.

Arrival for SNOW DRILL:

Children for two year olds, nursery, Reception, Year 1 and 2, will be able to enter the back gate (next to school bungalow) from 8.30-9.00. Parents will not be permitted onto the site.

Children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6, will enter via the front entrance, in a staggered way, from 8.30. Parents will again, not be allowed to enter the building.

Please try to use the full half hour arrival time to avoid queues however, in the event that it is busy, please queue sensibly on the pavements outside of school being mindful of the on-going Covid-19 situation.

Please can parents in cars be very mindful that there are a lot of very young children in the area and, where possible, walk to school. Roads around school are not gritted and so extra care needs to be taken to drive very slowly and carefully. No one wants to run over a child!

Dismissal:
For snow dismissal, we may be able to get the yard turned around by the end of a school day so please check emails and tweets but, if not the arrangements will be:

Year 4, 5 and 6 children who are allowed to walk home alone will be released from the front entrance at 3.10pm

ALL CHILDREN THEN REMAINING:
The oldest sibling will go to the classroom of the youngest sibling and will be dismissed with that class.

Year 2 children will be led onto the front car park at 3.15
Year 3 and any remaining Y5/6 children will be led onto the front car park at 3.20.
Year 4 children will be led onto the front car park at 3.25

Two year olds and nursery will be led to the back gate (next to the bungalow) at 3.00 p.m. and be dismissed from our Little Blossom garden.
Year 1 will be led to the back gate at 3.10
Reception will be led to the back gate at 3.20

It is likely to be busy at all collection times and points and it is very helpful if parents can time their arrival for the correct time but we will need parents to queue patiently as the safeguarding of children needs to be prioritised.

If you travel a distance to school you might want to let us know that your journey will take longer to ensure that you arrive safely.

Thank you so much in advance for your support and patience in making this work. It will only be enforced if the yard is iced over and we cannot grit a pathway.
