At Shiremoor Primary School, our Early Years is where the journey to success begins. We are committed to giving every child the very best start, ensuring that no learning time is missed and that every moment counts.

We focus on the foundations of early reading, phonics, and mathematics, while placing a strong emphasis on the prime areas of speaking, listening, and communicating. By developing these essential skills, we prepare children not only for Key Stage One, but for a lifetime of learning and opportunity.

Our children are encouraged to aspire to be their best selves, knowing that they can go on to achieve the best careers and futures. We foster curiosity, independence, and resilience, alongside creativity and play, so that every child develops a love of learning and the confidence to succeed.
