Snow Drill

The arrangements for this are as follows:

  • Morning Nursery, Reception, Years 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 children to arrive at school via the main entrance. Older children (Years 3-6) will walk to their classrooms independently but with staff stationed to support.
  • Younger children (Nursery-Year 2) will be taken to the hall where their teachers will be waiting for them.
  • Afternoon nursery to enter via back door.

Due to the volume of people at the entrance we ask that adults leave their child swiftly in the morning to enter school independently as staff will be at the front door to greet them and support younger children.

At the end of the school day, Year 5 and 6 will be dismissed at the front entrance by their teacher. Year 4 children, who are allowed to leave the teacher’s care, will also leave via the front entrance unless a parent communicates otherwise via the office.

No adults will be permitted into school until 3pm for collection. Parents are to arrive at the main entrance (see below arrival times) where they should go directly to the classroom of their youngest child. All older siblings (other than Y4, 5 and 6 independent leavers) will also be waiting in this classroom.

Parents should then exit the premises either by the main door or by the back door (next to the bungalow) depending on which is closest. Members of staff will be on both doors to support parents.

Please note the following year groups and collection times as collection time will be staggered to avoid congestion.

  • 2:50pm – Nursery
  • 3:00pm – Reception
  • 3:05pm – Year 1
  • 3:10pm - Year 2 and 3
  • 3:20pm – All Key Stage 2

No child will be released from school earlier than the above times without an appointment card.

Any adults using main entrance should ensure that children have right of way.

There may be delays and difficulties for individuals within these arrangements but our duty is to ensure the health and safety of children and therefore this will take priority. We ask that all adults are supportive of this and remind parents that any adult on the premises is acting as a role model for children.

If this procedure is to be put in place a notification will be emailed to parents and also the information will be put on 'X' formally known as Twitter.

Many thanks for your support with this.
